Use the Excel File tab to discover the version of Excel you are using.
Excel 2010

- Click the File tab to display the MS Office Backstage view
- Click Help
- The Excel version is shown in the Product Activated section – Microsoft Office Home and Student 2010
- The Excel bit version appears in the About Excel section – (32-bit)
Excel 2013 and Excel 2016

- Click the File tab to display the MS Office Backstage view
- Click Account
- The Excel version is shown in the Product information section – Microsoft Office Professional Plus 2013 (figure 2), and Microsoft Office 365 ProPlus (figure 3)
- To display the Excel bit version in Excel 2013 or Excel 2016, click the About Excel button – figure 2 and figure 3. The About Excel dialog box for Excel 2016 is shown in figure 4
